Sophia Becker,

Graduate Student Researcher

Sophia joined TSRC in June 2015. Her research interests are individual motives, cognitive heuristics, and user behavior in transportation. She holds a diploma degree (equivalent to Masters) in psychology from the University of Münster (Germany). In 2013, she started her Ph.D. project in sociology of technology and environment at the University of Stuttgart (Germany). In this role, she investigates the mental mechanisms of mobility-related rebound effects. This work and her stay at TSRC are funded by a research fellowship from the German interdisciplinary Helmholtz Research Alliance ENERGY-TRANS. As an associate lecturer, Sophia has worked for the Faculty of Sustainability Science at Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany) and for the Institute of Social Sciences at University of Stuttgart. During her psychology studies, she also gained some international experience as a student at University René Descartes Paris (France).
