Mateo is a recent graduate of the M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering program at UC Berkeley. His research interests focus on how shared-use mobility can make travel more affordable, accessible, and environmentally friendly. At TSRC, Mateo studies the impacts of microtransit services on vehicle ownership and greenhouse gas emissions. In addition to his research, he works as a Transportation Engineer at HNTB, where he specializes in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and tolling solutions. Outside of work, Mateo enjoys running, playing the piano, and spending time with his family.
