The companies have responded with designated parking areas, geofencing, improved fleet management, and stronger enforcement, according to Susan Shaheen, a professor at UC Berkeley and codirector of the Transportation Sustainability Research Center.

Susan Shaheen, the Transportation Sustainability Research Center’s co-director, discusses the Education Symposium held by the California Transportation Foundation.

“My perception has been that a lot of people who go to it are very inspired,” Shaheen, who is on the board for the foundation, said. “You’re hearing from people who are really senior in the field, and they’re talking to you, they’re focused on you, they’re answering your questions, and working side-by-side with you on a project for the symposium.”

Ziad Yassine from the University of California, Berkeley Transportation Sustainability Research Center will present during the Carsharing Association "Electrifying your carsharing fleet!" webinar. Ziad will share his research findings from a project called "Can Electric Vehicle Carsharing Bridge the Green Divide?" on the environmental impacts of the BlueLA carsharing program.
